Mt. Angel is a community vibrant with volunteer participation and community spirit. The contributions of the many citizens that give hundreds of hours of service per year contributes to the fine festivals the City hosts during the year. Oktoberfest is obviously the largest and most well-known of the festivals, however Wurstfest in February and Kristkindlmart in December are rapidly gaining popularity. The Fourth of July parade and day long events draw the community out in the summer for a day of celebration and fun.
The City itself employs 23 full and part-time staff members to accomplish its task of providing a variety of services to the community. The City owns and operates the water and sewer systems and wastewater treatment facilities, six local parks, a local library, the police department, the finance department, and an administrative staff that handles day to day calls, water billing, city permits, building permits, court, and various other functions of the City.
Recruitment of employees occurs on an as needed basis.
The City of Mt. Angel is an equal opportunity employer and provider.
