The Mt. Angel City Council is a seven member body consisting of six city council members elected into four year terms, and the Mayor who is elected to a two-year term.  The City of Mt. Angel operates under a Council-Manager form of government.

The Mayor and City Council provide responsive, progressive leadership and a vision for our community. Among many other duties, City Government is responsible for planning, improving and maintaining the City's infrastructure, providing cost effective and responsive services to the community, ensuring long term financial stability, adopting budgets and directing City operations, projects and programs.

The Mt. Angel City Council meets on the first Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m., unless it is an observed holiday.   City Council meetings are held at the Mt. Angel Community Meeting Room, 290 E. Charles Street (Cleveland Street Entrance).

Citizens are invited to comment during the council meeting.  You may fill out a Request to Speak form (provided below) and submit it to the City beforehand or you may fill out a form at the meeting.  Please turn all forms into the deputy city recorder before the meeting begins so the Mayor can include you in the agenda.  If you are providing documentation for the councilors, please provide 10 copies and turn them in with the request to speak form before the meeting so that the council and staff may have the information for reference.
